GE Capital IT Solutions Inc. has added Hewlett-Packard Co. 9000 K-class enterprise servers to its General Services Administration Information Technology Schedule contract. The high-end HP 9000 K380 server starts at $61,983 with up to six 240-MHz, 64-bit PA-8200 processors and 8G of RAM. The seven-slot server supports up to 32-way symmetric multiprocessing under HP-UX 10.20.

Also on the Gaithersburg, Md., company’s schedule contract are memory and
networking products from Kingston Technology Co. of Fountain Valley, Calif., flat-panel
and CRT monitors from Mitsubishi Electronics America Inc. of Cypress, Calif., and
projection devices from In Focus Systems Inc. of Wilsonville, Ore.


Comark Federal Systems of Chantilly, Va., has put the HP NetServer LXr Pro8 on its GSA
schedule contract.


The NetServer accepts up to eight Pentium Pro processors, up to 8G of RAM and more than
400G of storage per SCSI controller. It has a rack-mount chassis and hot-swappable power
supplies. Prices start at $26,303.


Comark’s schedule also now lists the Smart-UPS 2200 rack-mount uninterruptible
power system from American Power Conversion Corp. of West Kingston, R.I. The Smart-UPS has
CellGuard battery management and PowerChute Plus power management software. It is priced
from $1,560. Likewise, EdgeMark Systems Inc. of Silver Spring, Md., has put American Power
Conversion UPSes on its GSA schedule contract.


On Army Portable-2, Government Technology Services Inc. of Chantilly, Va., now sells
the ToughBook 45 notebook PC from Panasonic Computer Peripheral Co. of Secaucus, N.J.


Weighing 6.4 pounds, the ToughBook has a 233-MHz Pentium processor, 32M of EDO RAM, 4G
hard drive and 20X CD-ROM drive. A magnesium-alloy cover protects the LCD display. The
unit has a Fiberglas-reinforced lower case and a gel-mounted hard drive. It starts at
$1,899.


On Army PC-2 , GTSI has introduced the HP Vectra VE 8 PC with 100-MHz motherboard bus
and 400-MHz Pentium II processor.


It starts at $2,399 with 32M of synchronous dynamic RAM, 3.2G Ultra ATA-33 hard drive,
2M Accelerated Graphics Port graphics card and 10/100-Mbps network interface card from
3Com Corp. of Santa Clara, Calif.


On its Army Visual Information Products-1 blanket purchasing agreement, GTSI prices the
Panasonic KX-P8410 color laser printer, which prints 1,200 by 1,200 dots per inch, at
$2,499. The unit has 24M of RAM and a 350-sheet output tray. It produces
14-page-per-minute monochrome or 31'2-ppm color prints. The Army VIP-1 BPA is open to all
agencies.
