Nominations for the third annual Route Fifty Navigator Awards are now open!

We are pleased to announce that nominations for the Route Fifty Navigator Awards are now open for 2018.

Based on our publication’s mission of connecting the people and ideas advancing state, county and municipal government across the United States, the Navigator Awards highlight the best and brightest serving our nation. We focus on the projects that are not just a good idea in theory, but implemented successfully to the public’s benefit.

Last year, we received hundreds of nominations for  standout teams and individuals from across the country. Our winners ranged from leaders who pushed big economic development ideas in small communities, visionaries who changed California’s perspective on how to prepare for disasters, and government allies who are changing how governments do business. The nominations that poured in served as tremendous inspiration for our team of journalists throughout the year; we hope their stories inspired you, as well.

Now in our third year, we cannot wait to hear once again about all the amazing ways public leaders are making an impact.

Today we start our hunt for fifty finalists across five categories: The Electeds, The Leaders, The Tech Innovators, The Next Generation and The Allies.

Our team will evaluate each submission based on not just how innovative ideas are, but how they are implemented and the results they achieved. As in past years, our 10 winners will be announced in a ceremony at the National League of Cities’ annual City Summit, Nov. 7, in Los Angeles.

Whether you are a nominee, a finalist, a winner, or just love to hear more about the amazing work happening in state and local government, we hope you will join us there!

We hope you will take some time to learn more about the awards and nominate a standout public official or team.

Submissions are due July 11.
