Engaging Local Government Leaders is accepting applications for its annual awards program honoring the best city and county governments to work for.

Engaging Local Government Leaders is seeking applications for its annual awards program honoring the best places to work in local government. The program seeks to recognize city and county governments that encourage employee creativity, loyalty and success, the professional association says.

Some of last year's winners include Norfolk, Virginia; McHenry County, Illinois; and Hopkins, Minnesota. To read case studies about all the 2021 winners click here.

This year, ELGL added a quantitative component to the awards program so it can identify the factors that make the winning local governments great places to work. ELGL says it will use the data to identify "employee experience gaps that should be addressed to improve the government workplace experience." The results will be available later this summer.

This year’s winners will be showcased at ELGL’s annual conference in Phoenix Oct. 13 and 14. For more Information about the award program and to complete the application survey click here.
