NASIRE officials honor systems project managers at conference
The National Association of State Information Resources Executives last month honored smart systems projects.

The National Association of State Information Resources Executives last month honored smart systems projects.
NASIRE officials gave out the recognition awards during a ceremony at the association's annual conference in Baltimore. In all, 23 states proposed 87 projects for awards. NASIRE honored nine projects:
'J.D. Williams, Idaho state controller, accepted his state's award for a travel expense reimbursement application.
'Karla Pierce, Kansas' revenue secretary, accepted an award for the Revenue Department's Project 2000 customer service program.
'Kansas won a second award. Morey Sullivan, public service executive for the Administration Department's Division of Information Systems and Communications, and chief information officer Don Heiman accepted the honor for the state's information technology project standards.
'Jan Grecian, Missouri's deputy chief information officer, picked up her state's honor for its IT work force retention and recruitment program.
'Paul Kapalko, director and chief judge of the New Jersey Labor Department's Division of Workers' Compensation, picked up his organization's award for a case management system.
'North Carolina received honors for its innovative use of technology to attract industrial businesses to the state through a Web site at www.ncsitesearch.com. Leza Aycock, director of the Hurricane Floyd Redevelopment Center, accepted the award.
'Texas won an award for a Web site accessibility project. Jerry L. Johnson, senior policy analyst with the state's Information Resources Department, accepted the honor.
'Texas also won honors for forming a partnership with industry to create an electronic compliance and approval process for the Texas Railroad Commission. Hope Morgan, director of the commission's IT Services Division, accepted the award.
'Leslie Carter, chairwoman of Virginia's Telecommunications Workgroup, and Patricia Jackson, director of the Information Systems External Program for Virginia Tech, accepted an award for the state's advanced network infrastructure.
